Overview

Welcome to KidZone, Adventure Aquarium’s newest exhibit, where children are invited to connect with nature by getting hand’s on! KidZone is designed to appeal to kids 6 and under by encouraging them to roll up their sleeves to enjoy interactive activities and exhibits, and to see and touch vibrant new animal species, as well as some returning favorites. Finally, a space just for kids, who will surely want to jump, climb, crawl and play their way through Adventure Aquarium’s all new KidZone!

Parents and scientists agree that play is essential to the healthy growth and development of children. As kids play, they learn to solve problems, get along with others and develop the fine and gross motor skills needed to develop. In the simplest terms, play helps kids make sense of the world around them. With this in mind, Adventure Aquarium created KidZone, an exhibit specifically designed to appeal to a child’s natural curiosity to explore. The newly renovated space, located on the second floor of the Aquarium in Zone C, features vibrant and colorful décor, adorable characters, cool animals and touch species, and a series of interactive activities specifically designed to promote learning through play.

Your host for the journey? The AquaPals: Gill, a curious shark; Lizzie, a singing hippo; Shelldon, a quirky sea turtle, and Bobbi, a lovable penguin.

No matter what your age may be, you’ll want to jump, climb and play your way through Adventure Aquarium’s all new KidZone, opening this March – 2012.

In the meantime, on this official KidZone blog, you can explore artist renderings, view progress and construction photos, and read weekly updates from Gill – KidZone’s official “spy.”  Be sure to watch for updates on Facebook and Twitter, sign up for email updates, and of course check in at AdventureAquarium.com.
