Shelldon is Gill’s best friend. He’s a young, slightly quirky sea turtle with a bright green shell and four flippers that he uses to swim with speed and agility.
Shelldon has followed his family on long migrations across the globe, so he is well traveled. He has a keen sense of direction and always knows the right way to go. He relies on his trusty
compass to keep the AquaPals on course.
Shelldon is super-smart and can occasionally act like a “know-it-all.” In fact, one day when Lizzie called him a nerd, he smiled and said “Thank you.” There is one subject that Shelldon worries about: girls! He often frets about whether or not girls will like him, in spite of the fact that two of his closest friends, Bobbi and Lizzie, are girls. Shelldon tries to impress them with his endless supply of riddles and puns. (“Why do we turtles swim this way? Because that’s how our folks tortoise!”) It may take a while to reach the punch line, and when he does, his friends often groan. But deep down they love Shelldon’s silly sense of humor.
